Gynae-oncology is a rapidly expanding subject throughout the whole country. This subspecialty, introduced as a separate discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology was defined 49 year ago.

In 1969 the American Board of Obst. and Gynae recommended the development of three subspecialty which included Gynaecologic Oncology, Fetal maternal medicine and reproductive endocrinology.
