CME in Dhaka

A CME Program on update in Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) and Endometrial Cancer was held in the Milon hall of BSMMU on 7^th October, 2019 organized by Gynaecological Oncology Society of Bangladesh (GOSB).About 232 participants were present in the program.

The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. T A Chowdhury, President of GOSB. The program started with recitation from Holy Quran. Welcome address was delivered by Professor Rawshan Ara Begum, Senior Vice president of GOSB. Then speech by Secretary general of GOSB was delivered by Prof. Sabera Khatun. Prof. M A Hai president of Oncology club delivered his speech as special guest . Prof. Kanak Kanti Barua, Honorable Vice Chancellor of BSMMU graced the occasion as Chief Guest of the inaugural session.The session ended by deliberation of vote of thanks by Dr. Khoorsheed  Jahan Moula, President elect,GOSB.

The inaugural session was followed by a very successful scientific session. Different aspects of Update in Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) and Endometrial Cancer were presented by both foreign faculty and local faculty.

Scientific session-1 was on Update in Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD)

Dr. Farhana Tarannum Khan, Consultant,NICRH  presented “Genetic basis of GTD”. Prof. Nilufar Sultana, DMCH, Presented “Pathological basis of GTD” .Dr. Farhana Khatun, Assistant Professor, BSMMU presented “State of the ART of PSTT and ETT.Dr. Bhagyalaxmi Nayek, Asso. Professor,AH Regional Cancer Center, presented  “Presentation, management of molar pregnancy and concept of low risk GTD”.Then ”State of the art of intermediate,high and ultra hight risk GTD” was presented by Prof. Sabera Khatun, Secretary General of GOSB. “Role and responsibility of general gynaecologists in initial management of GTD” was presented by Prof. T A Chowdhury,President of GOSB.

Scientific session-2 was on Update in Endometrial Cancer

Prof. Nazma Haque,  Treasurer of GOSB  presented a “Changing trend in epidemiology and risk factors of Endometrial Cancer”. Prof. Farhat Hossain, Vice President of GOSB presented “Fertility sparing management of Endometrial Cancer”, Dr. Anne Katherin Goodman presented “Histology based-management of Endometrial Cancer”. Then “Primary surgery for Endometrial Cancer-how extensive it should be?” presented by Dr. Roma Joshi, Director, Fortis Memorial Research Institute. “Follow-up treatment of Endometrial Cancer after primary surgery” presented by Prof. Sarwar Alam, Chairman, Dept. of Clinical Oncology, BSMMU.

At the end of the scientific presentation, Open discussion was held. Several questions & answers on different issues were discussed by foreign faculties. Finally Brand presentation of ACI pharmaceutical ltd. was presented by Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Divisional Marketing Manager.
